11/11/11 Wedding

A little over a month ago, I had the opportunity to second shoot for a very talented photographer (whom I also call a friend), Valentina Glidden Photography. Jen and Jon got married on November 11, 2011 (yeah, that's 11/11/11!) And because this wedding took place on such a unique day, I decided to try something different with the editing and edit the photos in black and white (something I've been wanting to try for the longest time). I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do :)

I'm second shooting a wedding later today (it's almost 1 am as I type this post) with the lovely Diandra Ann. Haven't second shot a wedding since August 2010 and haven't shot a wedding since February 2011. Nonetheless, so very excited. I wanted to share this short video I created for Jessica & Marius, whose engagement session I shot a week ago. It's just something I shot for fun, wasn't really planned, but we had fun with it. Enjoy!

I haven't taken a self portrait since I started my 365-day project (which, btw, ended up being a big fail). So when I saw some fake lashes I bought yesterday at Target (which were intended to be used on one of my sisters) and heard little screams from my camera saying "use me, use me!", I knew what I had to do. Btw, I'm totally kidding about hearing my camera talk. I love black and white photography so I decided to convert all these photos I took of myself into black & white. I like the way they turned out (and no, I'm not into myself- lol.. just having a little fun). I'd like to one day shoot an entire session in black and white and/or edit an entire session in black and white. Whatever works.

No flash used, just the pretty natural light.

I just adore these two. I've known Jessica and Marius for quite some time now; we attend the same church. When Jessica emailed me and asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was ecstatic! Shortly after that initial email, we started planning their engagement session. Since they love the outdoors, I decided to take them to my favorite spot and they loved it. It was such a beautiful day out here in Southern California with absolutely gorgeous lighting and Jessica & Marius totally rocked it. I'm so looking forward to their March 2012 wedding!
