Jacqui & Kevin: An Orange County Love Shoot

A few years ago, I had the privilege of photographing a middle school friend of mine. Awhile back while changing blog platforms, a ton of my posts got lost and this was one of them. So I decided to go back and edit them since my editing style has changed since then. Still love the way this shoot turned out!

Backyard Engagement Party

Friday, September 26, 2014

I am officially in love with backyard engagement parties. I might be a little biased though as my engagement party took place in a backyard. I was honored when Lemi and Carmela asked me to photograph their engagement party but also a little bit nervous as it has been a couple years since I've photographed an event.

This engagement session had it all. The food was homemade by the both moms. The decor was done by the bridesmaids. Florals were done by Carmela's talented sister. Everyone pitched in to make sure that Lemi and Carmela had an engagement party to remember. It was by far the prettiest one I've ever seen and I'm sure everyone else would agree with me.

Being a wedding blogger myself, I've debated whether or not I wanted to feature my own work on my own blogs. Some people told me that I should but it just didn't feel right. So I submitted and I waited and was pretty beside myself when Elizabeth Anne Designs accepted the Balboa Park engagement session! After taking about 2 years off from photography, I really didn't expect that one of the two shoots I did coming back into photography would get featured. Sure, I've second guessed myself and my work... feeling as though I could have done better somehow or someway. But seeing it featured on a wedding blog that I truly love and adore, it makes me want to high-five myself. This just gives me the motivation to go out and shoot more and believe in myself a little bit more :)
